Freezin’ for a reason
December 6, 2011
Hi, all!
Tomorrow is the kickoff of Rockin’ for the Hungry, our largest annual outdoor food and fund drive! Food Gatherers volunteers and radio personalities from ann arbor’s 107one will be “freezin’ for a reason” as this event is broadcast live from Kroger on S. Maple Rd. Read more about this year’s Rockin’ here!
This year also marks our first Rockin’ for the Hungry Afterglow party, featuring live music from critically-acclaimed indie-rock band Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr.! This Detroit duo released their highly-acclaimed album It’s a Corporate World this summer, (earning a #6 spot on Paste Magazine’s Albums of the Year), and we’re excited they are joining us for their final hometown-area show of 2011!
The Afterglow will be held Sunday, December 11 from 5:30-7:30pm at Wolverine State Brewing Co., located at 2019 West Stadium next to Big George’s and behind Great Lakes Cycling! $5 plus a non-perishable food donation gains you entry to the event, a slice of Cottage Inn pizza, and a hot drink. Wolverine’s awesome beer will be available for purchase separately.
We hope you’ll join us for Rockin’ and the Afterglow! In the meantime, check out Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. on NPR’s World Cafe here, or watch the official music video for “Simple Girl” from their album It’s a Corporate World.
Many thanks to: ann arbor’s 107one, Cottage Inn, Wolverine State Brewing Co., Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr., and all the supporters and volunteers involved in making this happen.
See you there!
Kate
